First, a belated thanks to those who answered my hubby's question about NT vs Unix. I believe it was Matthew Soffen, Mike Stone, Peter Schoenster, Brett Lorenzen, and Susan Duncan who volunteered their opinions. Bruce *loved* all the comments, and it was almost enough to convince him to sign up for the list -- he said "wow, a whole group of people who *think* about things!" I'll keep working on him -- I already forward him all the good jokes and any important bug notices or technology notes ya'll post, so I figure he'll give in sooner or later and decide to see the whole shebang. Second, a whine. Our DSL is down again. Grump, gripe, whine, moan. I hate FTPing by modem. I hate dialing in to get email. And I really really hate waiting for the stupid web sites *I* designed to download. Argh. Supposedly everything is out of our DSL supplier's hands, since (supposedly) Pac Bell or Cal Trans has cut yet another major cable in their attempt to install the light rail here in our neighborhood. Folks, if you live anywhere where there's going to be major construction, invest in wireless. I'm dead serious. This is two times in two weeks that we've been down, this time for THREE days. 'nuff whining. I gotta get back to finishing up round two of designs for a nice little router company, who wanted a bit more "energy" and "movement" in their pages.
