Is it really true?
Big companies/brand could have the money for being top rankes
but dont need to be top ranked... if you are looking for FIAT,
Ferrari, Philips, Microsoft, ... you can reach them just typing
www.[brand].com or obtain good results entering +[brand]
+[product name]
Small companies don't have the money...
Do you know any medium company who is top ranked?
Have you found something special in their pages design?
Special use of META etc...?
Have you found any correlation in HTML/design between top ranked
pages?
I prefer to continue to think there is a scientific method to be top
ranked... so I'll continue to try...
But I haven't got any evidence of this.
Similar pages (equal number of keywords in the same places
/title/description/meta etc...) could be ranked enough differently (4
or 5 pages between them).
I haven't found no medium size company nor big size company top
ranked. If being top ranked would be a matter of money/research I
would expect big/medium companies to be top ranked.
If there exist any scientific means to be sure to be on the first 2
pages of SE I would expect that companies claiming they are able
to improve your site position would be first in search as +"search
engine" +"improving position" et similia.
If you just copy their pages and sobstitute their keywords with
yours you should be top ranked with your keywords...
This doesn't happen (I tryed).
Many of their pages are bridge pages.
Targetted delivery of pages to search engine is now considered
spam and punished by SE like Infoseek.
Another mathematical evidence of the impossibility to control your
position with precision is the incredibly high number of pages a SE
presents for few keywords (even if you use very specifik keywords
results can be more than tens of thousands)
suppose that just 1% of them have been studied to cathc SE
attention. they will be spread over 10 pages.
Any comment?
Are my ideas reasonable?

Well as I said I'm trying to do my best anyway. Since I would like
to see my site top ranked I'll continue to try in the hope there is a
method.
Some month ago one of my sites was top ranked on 60% of the
most popular search engines for a long time... so If I have
succeeded once I can succeed twice :-)
