On my monitor, the photos seem to display the same in NS 4.0 and I.E 3.02. I
would suggest you use JPEGs rather than GIFs. GIFs simply do not retian
enough "information" to display the greyscale variants you need for photos.
JPEGs are the universal choice for photos or for graphics with gradients.
