I've gotta say I was surprised to see this post all about my ride. Hope
nobody minded the content. My wife and I, and a few friends, have been
training for the ride for the past 4 months, doing a lot of 70-80 mile rides
(in hilly Northern California). My legs are getting thicker every week (just
gotta remember to stretch...all that time at the keyboard can make the knees
a little stiff - ergonomics/sports training lesson #1).
We take off on the 31st of May. The trip is 7 days, averaging between 75 and
100 miles a day. I'm expecting it to be a beautiful ride, since it's spring
here and things are green! There are around 2500 of us doing the ride. The
ride organizers carry all our stuff and provide food, drinks, snacks, pit
stops, etc. We camp at night....and peddle all day. The finish of the ride
will probably be on the US news on June 6th...watch for me on TV, I'll be
the one in the WC t-shirt....um...now where is that t-shirt...
Anyway, thanks to Suz for the post. And thanks to those of you who gave me
the "go, Jack, go".
