It's been my experience that people who are taken in by inferior
platforms frequently find it necessary to justify their poor choices
by questioning the capabilities of people who point out that they're
poor choices. (Heck, I spent years arguing with the VMS crowd, pointing
out the shortcomings in that deceased OS. This is nothing new for me.)
FYI, I've been working on the Internet (and the ARPAnet and Usenet before
that) for 18 years. I'd say by now that even if I was a bit dim --
and I'm not -- I could not have helped but pick up a few things
here and there. My opinions are based on that experience.

Sure, if you don't mind something that's insecure...that doesn't comply
with Internet standards...that doesn't scale...and so on. Does it
solve the immediate problem? *Maybe*. Would some people call
that a "solution"? Sure. They do it every day. But I don't.
