Somebody answered the first...
You'll have the same result of being sure the latest verson of a 
document is loaded at evry request without loosing the time to load 
the entire page (but the browser will send a request to compare 
date) by:
opening edit->preferences->advanced->cache->document in cache 
is compared....->Evry time
Of course the content of the cache will remain on the HD
Try to look at tucows I think there you can find some utilities to 
manage NS cache...
