Institute. Their book, "Web Site Usability: A Designer's Guide," is good
reading for everyone in the business.
One of their findings is that the likability of a site does not correlate
very well with its task effectiveness. So an "I don't like that prototype"
from a manager might have little to do with its actual usability. This is
particularly important for intranet apps where task is everything and
image is less important. Subject preferences (as used in the Rosenfeld
piece) are not necessarily the best guide.
