If ya gotta ask the question, I don't think you're going to buy into the
answer.
I think this is very a bright and innovative use of imagery and the way
that they work with the textual content is great. I'd dearly love to see
a lot more of this on the web and don't think its because of a personal
bias towards good photography. I'd bet that there are a lot of users who
would enjoy the pages, remember a lot of the information they got when
they read the text, come back for repeat visits, bookmark the pages and
pass the URL along to many of their friends and drive the traffic way
up.
I believe the last sentance states the ultimate goal that most web
designers have for their sites.
