I just bought a scanner (Umax Astra 610S) and I paid less than US$100
(including a $15.00 scsi cable I had to buy separately).

I bought it primarily to do pictures of my kids. I have traveled the
world many times but I never owned a camera and never took pictures.

But I love to see pictures of places. It kills to me to go to
tourist websites and see so few pictures. I want to see the hotel
rooms (under the bed and behind the door).

I followed a link from Greenspun's site to his nephew and boy was
that just the sort of site I would imagine would be great if your
kids lived in the U.S. It was picture city. Activities and
pictures.

More pictures please.
