Hey, we live in southern Oregon, which must be last on the list for USWest
equipment upgrades. But, until the City of Ashland's fiber optic network
extends to our house, we're stuck with USWest. My connections have gotten
even worse since we moved from Talent to Ashland. Until today, I was
frequently kicked offline. Or, worse, I would think I was online but would
get DNS errors when I tried to get mail or access Web pages. Yesterday
morning it took me 45 minutes to get online and retrieve my mail. I finally
discovered that booting up ICQ was the best way to tell whether I was
really online or not. I also had a lot of weirdness when I could get mail
but couldn't send it, or vice versa.
I'm guessing that the new version of ARA somehow knows how to establish a
more solid connection.
