The 2 designers I work with use the latest golive and fireworks (they
use macs). Golive is one of the best wysiwyg's that I have seen. But
I think the question of wysiwyg goes beyond the issue of which one to
use.
I, the programmer, was the first in our group to start using css. I
went and bought a book. I tried a couple of css editors (liked none).
I even created a local site using css. The designers only use what
their tool allows. BTW, golive does include some sort of css as the
senior designer told the junior designer that golive supported css. I
yelled at them for not doing something in this area.
BTW, these designers do not buy books. I have about 40-50 books by my
desk and they may have .... maybe I have seen 1 or 2. I think they
are much more software oriented; if the software says it can be done,
then it can be done. The idea of just firing up a text editor and
doing it is alien (except for the senior designer who does use bbedit
from time to time).
