I heard that file as well. I thought I heard:
"...this is Linus Torvalds and I pronounce 'LINUX' -- 'LEE-nooks'."
More confusing, I read somewhere that LINUX is based largely on Minix,
hence the
'lin-nucks' version. I cringe when I hear co-workers, SA's even, say
"LIE-nex."
Even though I'm used to hearing my name mangled beyond recognition,
I should be more considerate of learning the correct pronunciation of others'.
