I assume this means Pasadena near Los Angelos and not Pasadena, Lousiana. :)
On the next beautiful weekend day, go to Venice Beach and walk the length
of the boardwalk there. You will meet all sorts of interesting characters
and see some wonderful street performances.
If you like amusement parks, the great america there is pretty awesome. (I
forgot the exact name of it). Universal Studios can be pretty fun, as can
Disneyland. If you want to see conspicuous consumption at its worst (best?)
go to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. For the younger hipper version of that,
go to Melrose. Good people watching and your likelihood of spotting a
celebrity is pretty high in either location.
Better still, pick up a tour book of LA. There is a lot of fun stuff to do
there.
Feel free to write to me offlist giving me a better idea of what you like
to do for fun -- then I can tell you more info on where to go. I lived in
LA for 10 years and only left about 2 years ago.
