Ha!  He finally woke up.

I still take issue with this father of web design crap.  More properly
should be "father of being the first one to cull great design ideas from
other people's web sites and put them into books".  My suggested
re-write:

"Cutting edge web design is fading away because people are bored with
it, and have realized HTML is not a presentation language.  If you need
confirmation of this adjustment, you need only to talk to David Siegel,
perhaps the web's best known self promotion artist.  He's realized that
consulting on strategy brings in bigger paychecks, and involves flying
to cool places to give lectures.  "My clients stopped paying for sites
people only visited once, and only to look at," he says as he masters
the startlingly obvious."

Will be interesting to see what he does with his "status" to clean up
some of the messes he made  ;)
