hmmm... well it does say "equivalent work experience" -- which *many many*
job posts do not. this could be a reflection of the newness of the field?
or the fact that lots of computing/prgramming people are self taught?

i won't argue the merits of bachelor of arts/science degrees -- much of
what i took away from college was "off hours" stuff -- editing a quarterly
magazine and a bi-weekly newspaper, learning how to "paste up" the paper
(wax & xacto knives and hands on design, headline writing, etc), learning
to compose on a typewriter -- all of that was from extracurricular work.

college completion does show, to some degree, the ability to set and reach
a goal. it also shows an ability to figure out and conform to a 'culture'
-- albeit academia not corporate america.

should live next door and just visit now and then.
