Yeah, no one should be able to subscribe or unsubscribe from a 
webform.

I just had a little battle over this.  I had to write my own little 
subscription system.  The marketing team (MT) thought  many people 
would find it difficult to understand the message sent by majordomo 
about verifying a subscription request. The MT wished that a person 
need only reply; just reply. So I stuck an identifier with the 
person's email, as given on the web form, on the bottom of the email 
sent to them asking them to "just reply".  A few people have replied 
as if they were talking to a human (and they deleted the original 
message so I had to subscribe manually).  So far about 1 in 4 people 
"just reply".  Perhaps even that is asking too much.

But I think unsubscribe and subscribe can be initiated on a webform 
but it should only be implemented after email validation.
