This is like a sick joke. I had a bi-lateral bone marrow biopsy tuesday
and am taking the bus in a few hours to go to the VA clinic and find out
the results. Still in the staging process for my Hodgkin's Disease but
this will help.
Here's the twist... my computer's also got a damn virus! Just downloaded
the latest Mcafee demo and it says I needed to boot from a clean DOS and
run scan.exe. Ok, in the process it says not enough memory to run scan.exe
( I have 20 megs, 486dx80, couple gigs of drive, W95). The virus is a
memory virus called NYB. I know of another who had to reformat his drive
and start over. I'ld like to avoid this if possible, any ideas?
I know, it's a perfect time to start fresh with Linux. I'ld love to but
just received a spare 486 that I'ld like to use for it. First things first
and then soon I'll be wrung out from chemo therapy and the joys associated
with it.
BTW, I found an excellent listserver for Hodgkins people if any need the
address.
While mostly a lurker here, I do enjoy the reading and experimented with
many of the ideas presented.
W!
