I just got out one of the oldest books about the Web I own called
"Spinning the Web". It says the Web was started in 1989 but was only used
by Tim Berners Lee and compatriots until 1993 when the rest of the world
stumbled upon it. If you've ever seen the browser originally used you'd
see it wouldn't take a lot of imagination to design a site. But boy did
it grow like Topsy after that.
