      Admiral Grace Hooper was the "mother" of COBOL. Data processing 
would not be where it is today but for many of Grace's contributions. She 
was a giant in the field. She retired from the Navy and was called back 
to duty twice. At one time, she was the oldest officier on active military 
duty.

      Grace also coined the truism, "It's easier to get forgivness than  
permission."
