     Uhm, Bob, don't take this the wrong way, but NextStep is a
UNIX-based operating system...  A damn good one in some ways, too.
I've always thought it was a shame that more of the NextStep
concepts didn't flourish.

     Oh, get real.  Frankly I'd rather not see that sort of comment
either, nor the heavy-handed parodying of the MS-Windows name(*).  It
detracts from the conversation and it distracts us from the important
points.  It also gives Microsoft apologists ammo they don't need, to
confuse the issue.  "Sick and scary", however, is just a little bit
melodramatic.  

     Now could we all take this conversation somewhere a bit more
productive?

(* Although I do really dislike the way Microsoft has appropriated the
 perfectly normal and general world "Windows" to mean their specific
 product.  It's MICROSOFT Windows, dammit!).
