I used to sing the praises of MetaInfo and now I just want to rip
their software off my servers and never ever have to deal with them
again. It's the age old issue of "you only get incident support if
you pay for it.. and you have to pay for it first even if we have a
bug in our software". I fought them on it again on an issue I've had
before, and now I've got a listserv that isn't going to run until at
least Monday (they are off tomorrow and Friday and of course the
weekend).
Since I've run a Linux box before, I'm real tempted to set one up and
install Sendmail, listserv and DNS on it (that's what I'm using the
metainfo software for). Now, the whole idea was, the fewer boxes to
support the better, and I'd still lean that way if I could find
something practical that will: a) work on NT b) handle DNS for
multiple domains c) handle sendmail duties including email addresses
for multiple domains with the same name going to different people (ie.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] going to two different
people) d) handle autoresponders e) handle listservs
Any ideas?
