But I thought one of the pleasures of "working for yourself" was being able
to take time off whenever you want? Heh, heh, double <g>. Good luck with
your new adventure, Brent.

And now, with the AOL/NS thing, the cross-platform-browser-anomoly thing has
taken another twist. Previously AOL was one of the last things I tested
on...now I find myself downloading AOL4, just to get a feel for it.

Javilk had an interesting thought, something along the lines of "MS is
fronting the AOL purchase so that they can kill NS". Fun little consiracy
theory...Steve Case did say that he plans on continuing to incorporate IE
after Jan 1st, when the MS/AOL browser agreement comes up for renewal. If he
goes with the NS browser, then all the ISP's that are distributing NS will
be supporting their competition. Javilk also mentioned that Andreeson
setting NS source code free earlier this year makes even more sense if you
look at it this way: (Andreeson daydreaming here:) AOL is gonna buy us
(Netscape), right? AOL is in bed with MS...AOL won't continue to build our
browser, ISP's won't support their competitor, we better put it out in the
open source world or it'll never stand a chance.

Will be looking forward to it. Maybe you can stash a "before" copy somewhere
for the history books.
