The hermit's life is beginning to appeal to me. At the very least,
I might adopt a semi-Luddite/Amish stance and cancel my phone service.
It is almost getting to the point where the only calls I get are from
telemarketers, and they are really getting bad. The worst was
yesterday: 8am Sunday, and it was a recording asking me to leave my
name and number if I was interested in carpet cleaning. Had I been
awake and thinking clearly, I would have left them a message to
remember.
Aren't there laws specifying when calls can be made? And doesn't a
human have to be involved at some point in the transaction? If
anyone can cite some references, either federal or CA state, I'd be
much obliged. Something legalish that I can quote when those
inappropriate calls come...
