Associate Director
Communication, Culture, and Technology Program
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
Georgetown University
Washington, D.C.

The Communication, Culture, and Technology Program (CCT) at
Georgetown University is seeking candidates for the position of
Associate Director. CCT is a multidisciplinary masters degree
program devoted to providing education for information age and
new media-related careers in business, government, and education.

The Associate Director of the CCT Program assists the Director
with the planning and leadership of the academic program.
Candidates should have a Ph.D., or equivalent, in a field
relevant to CCT, and should have professional knowledge of
contemporary media, communications, and the Internet to
contribute to the vision of the CCT Program. We are seeking the
right person to help lead a growing and evolving program.

Main administrative responsibilities include heading the
admissions committee, acting as curriculum coordinator and
academic program builder, advising students, acting as liaison
with adjunct faculty, coordinating CCT events, and providing
senior leadership for the CCT program when the Director is away
from the university. Ability to teach and contribute to the CCT
curriculum is highly desirable.

In addition to general qualifications, candidates with expertise
in one or more of the following areas will be given highest
consideration: experience with university administration,
experience with forming partnerships between business and
education, knowledge of communications and technology policy,
knowledge of the Internet and Web (technical, international
political issues, cultural and social contexts), knowledge of
contemporary theory in media and communication studies.

We are especially interested in candidates who would be able to
bridge, and work comfortably in, the academic, professional,
business, and government cultures with which CCT is connected. An
entrepreneurial outlook and ability to work as a team member with
CCT staff and faculty is essential.

We will begin reviewing applications on Dec. 20, and we will
continue to accept applications until the position is filled.
Salary is negotiable based on experience.

All candidates should familiarize themselves with the CCT
Program structure and philosophy before applying. See the CCT
website: http://cct.georgetown.edu

To apply, send a cover letter and resume:
via email to Martin Irvine,
Director of the CCT Program ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
or by fax (202-687-1720). No phone inquiries
please. Finalists will be contacted for an interview.

Sometimes I wonder if men and women really suit each other. Perhaps they
should live next door and just visit now and then.
