Interesting, and good evidence of why service bureaus (which are usually
Mac-based) say that special characters on PCs are a pain. Whenever George
types that special character, it shows up in my email on my Mac as a round
bullet (which on a Mac is typed with option 8). However, when Barry types
it, it does look something like a cap C with an equal sign in the middle on
my Mac, as George described what he gets when he types it on his PC.

My prediction for 1999 is that to prevent confusion, we're going to abandon
the special characters in favor of something like Euro$, $Euro, or $E.
