Now I'm sort of chuckling over the dilemma now facing the anti-M$ and
anti-cybersquatter contingents. Who'd'a thunk we'd have to root for either MS
or cybersquatters... <g>
I haven't looked at the NIC's "Dispute Policy" lately, but I thought at one
point it was that anyone with a tm on the name had a stronger claim than
someone not doing business under that name, and the domain name could be taken
from cybersquatters summarily buh bye do not pass go do not collect $200. Or
has the 'NIC since declared that they would go with a court decision only?
I've got to catch up on this.

MICROSOFT SUES "CYBERSQUATTERS" OVER USE OF DOMAIN NAMES
Microsoft is suing two Texas men in federal court for registering the
Internet domain names microsoftwindows.com and microsoftoffice.com. Calling
them "pirates" and "cybersquatters," Microsoft says the men have also
registered domain names such as AirborneExpress.com, AlamoRentalCar.com,
AssociatedPress.com, Hollywood-Video.com, and TravelersInsurance.com, all
without permission from the companies that bear those names. (AP/USA Today

AOL GETS BIGGER AND BIGGER AND BIGGER
By adding one million new members in seven weeks (and more new members on
Christmas day than on any day in its history), America Online now has more
than 15 million members. (New York Times 1 Jan 99) Meanwhile, AOL says its
members spent $1.2 billion shopping online this past holiday season -- a
average of $80 per subscriber. Analysts are estimating that online sales
will total around $13 billion for all of 1998. (Wall Street Journal 5 Jan 99)
