Yes. Always has been, and the hype over NT has only snared people
stupid enough to use Microsoft products. (Happily for Microsoft, there
are a *lot* of stupid people. But the less dense ones are starting to
figure out that NT is garbage.)

Viruses are not predominantly a UNIX phenomenon. There are several
thousand known viruses for the DOS/Windows/NT OS family, and only
a few for the Unix/Linux world. (I'm using "virus" in the strict
sense, i.e. this does not include worms, trojan horses, and other
forms of "malware".)
