Hi All,
I'm in a bit of a troubled spot. Due to changes at Minerva Systems, my NT
hosting service, I have had to change my plans for setting up a dedicated
server at their site. I've been scouring the web trying to find a hosting
service that can do for me what Minerva was going to do:
On a month-to-month rental basis, supply the following:
HARDWARE
300mhz+ (with dual CPU option) server
128mb ram
2 4.1gb mirrored SCSI drives
Ethernet connection to their pipeline
56k modem and POTS line for private data
Tape backup
SOFTWARE
NT Server 4
MS IIS web server software
MS SQL Server 6.5 (or 7)
Cold Fusion 4.0
PC Anywhere
Mail software (was going to be post.office)
SERVICE
Setup of server and software
As many IP addresses as the server will handle (depending on load)
DNS maintenance
Tape rotation
5 hours of tech support a month
COST: $575 setup ($75 for POTS line)
$475 monthly (rack space, connectivity and support. Does not include
POTS cost)
I've looked high and low and haven't found anything in this ballpark, and
have not found anyone willing to put out the cash for CF and SQL Server and
build the cost into a rental. The closest I have found is this:

but they do not include CF or SQL Server.
If you can't tell, I'm trying to do this on a specified budget, want to go
with a rental and right now I am locked into an NT machine due to Cold
Fusion. CF for Linux is under development, though!
If anyone has any suggestions for other hosts or experience with another
host who handles dedicated servers, please let me know. I've been sorta
forced into "emergency" mode, because I have a client whose site is going to
be advertised on Jan 29th and need to have the server in place by then.
