I got the same answer, though my email was to Andy Grove.  I suggested
that what they should do is burn a unique RSA private key into each
chip, not just a serial number.  Then everyone would have available
a powerful mechanism to INCREASE their own privacy and security.

Is everyone certain that Windows doesn't have a unique serial
number embedded in it somewhere, which can be used for the same
things that the Intel CPU ID could?
