I use a Cassiopeia E-11, and really like it pretty well. It came with 8
megs of RAM, a digital recorder, and (good and bad here) Outlook 98. I DO
like Outlook 98, but I DON'T like being quite that Microsoft dependent.
Once I installed Outlook 98 and Windows CE on my PC linking has been
trouble free. I mostly use the keyboard feature of the Cassiopeia to enter
data (rather than the handwriting recognition feature) because for me it's
faster; friends with the PalmIII tell me that that machine has a "solitare"
game based on handwriting recognition that makes it "fun and easy" to
learn. Can't speak for or against that 'feature' because the Cassiopeia
lacks it. I do NOT use the internet feature; for me, it's basically a small
electric daytimer (contacts and calendar). Most of the people I see using
them tell me they use them the same way I do. Cassiopeias are still about
$399 here in Seattle, though, and I saw a PalmIII advertised today for
$299.99 (office max). Looks like a good deal to me.
