On the one hand, I'm happy that the mainstream trade press have started
to see the light, and now are beginning to dimly grasp what many of
us have been saying for years: Unix/Linux is the only viable choice
for Internet services (and for a lot of other things as well) because it
is the place where all of them have been invented. Everyone and everything
else is playing catch-up, and in the case of NT, playing badly.
On the other hand, the hype/buzz phenomena bothers me. There's nothing
all that different about Linux now than, say, one year ago. But the
coverage then was very negative at that point -- and almost uniformly so.
BTW, the front page of "PC Week" has Linus on it, and an interesting
article inside.
