One area where Linux+Samba is still deficient though is at the
filesystem level with NTFS and its ACLs. This is something that
is not unique to NT (even the Novell NOS has it), but -- to my
knowledge -- no one other than a convoluted "Orange Book" AT&T
implementation of SVR4 has ever attempted on UNIX. I didn't
expect it, but our users are surprisingly attached to the ability
to assign access permissions beyond the usual user/group/other
trifecta.
Linux/Samba is good, but not perfect. Or did I miss a feature or
product announcement somewhere?
