OH, now I see the original post. 

Amazon.com just bought into Drugstore.com -- maybe they haven't had time to "educate" 
them yet? so not exactly a baby-brother (I don't think they had the same father).

Also -- you SQL guys might be able to explain this -- the Oracle guy at LinuxWorld 
said that NT/SQL database cannot be "backed up" unless it's "taken down" -- ie, not 
available to serve the web. I know this is the case for Oracle 7 also, but not Oracle 
8. What's going on that requires exclusive access to the DB? He implied that B&N has 
never backed up their DB!

Also - stream of consciousness here.. Oracle announced Oracle 8i, a DB that sounds 
like a competitior to Seros .. you can put "documents" and "videos" and "graphics" etc 
in the DB in their native format -- and then use the DB to populate web page with 
content. Showed a demo they built for Porche. It was pretty cool (visually at least).
