If the client system doesn't have the Symbol font on their system, it will
fail. Don't do it. What symbol are you trying to show? Consider a gif.

It works fine on Mac Netscape browsers since version 2  and Mac IE v3 and
4. But don't bother specing anything except times, times new roman, arial,
or helvetica. Any other font is not likely to be on many clients.
