Sandy, I know nothing about the technicalities of doing this. I wanted to
comment on your resistance to the concept because of loading time. I am the
first person in line to rail against long page loads for glitz. But in this
case, it's worth it. It didn't take all that long, and the effect is very
cool. I viewed it using Communicator 4.05 (on my PC, didn't try it on my
Mac) and I was surprised that no plugin seemed to be required. It seems
that this is a java applet that the browser just handles. Of course, older
browsers won't be able to do this. But again I'm not an expert in this area.
If the client wants it, find someone who can do it and tell the client it's
going to cost X thousands of dollars extra - because it won't be cheap.
