i'm just about the last person to ask for advice regarding anything Windows
related, so i don't know if there's any way to proxy with the default
server.. i'll leave that call to someone with a real opinion.   there's a
port of Apache for Windows, though, and i believe it should be reasonably
stable by now.   if all else fails, you might consider using that.
setting up a proxy with Apache is fairly sane.
