Well, I suppose the chief exaggerates a little, but yes, it's a

requisition to hire me some more staff, and I sure could use them.

Our bodies are garbage heaps: we collect experience, and from the
decomposition of the thrown-out eggshells, spinach leaves, coffee
grinds, and old steak bones of our minds come nitrogen, heat, and very
fertile soil. Out of this fertile soil bloom our poems and stories.

Hee. The chief of my division happened to catch a piece on the radio
about this dubious bit of reportage last week... says to me, "So, I
hear you've got the best job in the world. Does this mean we can cut
your salary because, heck, you're just having so much *fun* that
money is immaterial??"

We snickered a bit over that, and then he said a little more
seriously, "Though I don't know where they get that crap about the
'low stress' and 'short work weeks'. You've only been here five
months but you're already a prime burn-out candidate what with the
work-load you've got".

Well, I suppose the chief exaggerates a little, but yes, it's a
stressful job. Ten-hour days minimum, in on weekends, eat at my
desk, phone ringing constantly, incessant deadlines, technical snafus
causing mayhem... oh well, you guys know the drill. We've put in a
requisition to hire me some more staff, and I sure could use them.
