http://www.web2py.com/examples/default/download there is always one and only version labeled as stable http://www.web2py.com/examples/static/web2py_src.zip http://www.web2py.com/examples/static/web2py_win.zip http://www.web2py.com/examples/static/web2py_osx.zip Currently it is 2.2.1. The version posted there as stable always has a unique number. Trunk (github and googlecode) are a different story. We make changes and I do not change the version number in the committed files at every commit. I only change the date. If you get the code from github or googlecode you will find many versions labelled as 2.2.1. Only one of them is tagged as R-2.2.1 and that is the one this is posted as "stable" at the link above, usually it is the first version labelled as 2.2.1. Currently trunk contains 2.3.0 ... rc1.
