You missed my edit -- I corrected: request.extension = 'xml' or redirect(URL(extension='xml'))
to: request.extension == 'xml' or redirect(URL(extension='xml')) It works as expected with that correction. Note, there is no difference between returning response.render(dict()) and just returning dict().
