Recently Richard proposed a new logo, called for an online vote and
Yarko closed the thread:

I would like to clarify a few things:
1) Richard had emailed me the his logo before opening the thread. I
invited him to post is logo on the group in case people liked it.
2) It was Richard idea to call a vote on it. That is OK this time
since we have no rule against it
3) Yarko closed the thread. That was his idea but he did so exactly
when Richard said the poll was going to close. (Richard said in 3hrs
at 9:25 and Yarko closed at 12:17). Therefore the result of the poll
are not significantly affected: users like the new logo but prefer to
stay with the current one.
4) I approved this consultation in the thread. I did not say I would
comply with the outcome but, of course, I would have taken (and I am
taking) users opinion in strong consideration in this matter.

I do not think in this case there is any issue. The poll closed when
it was supposed to be closed. The outcome was that we stay with
current logo, nevertheless some of you like the new snake and perhaps
we can find a use for it.

But we need to write down some rules for the future:
a) When can one call an online vote?
b) When one can close a thread?
c) what else?
