I don't have any problems setting breakpoints, inspecting variables, stepping through code, etc with Eclipse/PyDev. Breakpoints are hit properly during requests including ajax callbacks. I use Visual Studio 2008 everyday at work and I would *not* call Eclipse/PyDev a joke comparatively.
