The current trunk version is pretty stable for me. I know there are a few people out there looking forward to the new import functionality. Plus, it's been about a month since the last stable release, so it's probably time :)
Though you may want to make a note that it will not work with Python 2.4, so that people still running production web2py systems on Python 2.4 won't get an ugly surprise.
