If you want to develop a standard NPAPI plugin that can be used with WebKit and other browsers, the best documentation is Mozilla's, http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Plugins . QtWebKit also has a plugin system based on QObject that's not portable to other engines (but it is between Qt-supported platforms).
