According to the comments in the Makefile Thomas Klausner posted: # This does not disable optimisations, merely avoids #error if there are none. CFLAGS+= -DRELEASE_WITHOUT_OPTIMIZATIONS
Now, it could still be suboptimal, but should NOT cause any error if the comment is NOT wrong to begin with, or this option causes a bug in NetBSD or Cmake itself for that matter. P.S. The "Reply" Use email software button on this site (https://lists.webkit.org) does not work on webkit-gtk 2.50.4 Debian, while it does on Palemoon. I'm guessing the website code may not be universally standards compliant.
