Hi!
Yap. As far as I remember a mail from Cliff, in the WODev mail-
list, since 5.3, it's legal and free to deploy wherever you want...
if you are able to do it! :) Apple does not support anything else
than X Server, but if you can manage yourself to deploy it on any
other OS, great, you can do it.

That depends on which version of WO. The very latest appears to be
free as in beer. Of course, it is handy to have a Mac to extract
the files from the .dmg :-)
Chuck
Is there a distinction between dev and deploy license ?
YES Developer licence is for development (bundled with Tiger),
deployment licence is for deployment (bundled with Tiger Server).
Finally, is there a distinction between 'WAR deployment with tomcat'
and 'other-kind-of deployment' (and in which case do we need a
deploy
license ?
There is no distinction. ALL cases of deployment need a deployment
licence. Either buy Tiger Server for $499, buy an XServe $2999, or
buy
WO 5.2 for $699.

**Hum, you need to buy a deployement key, for WO 5.3 it comes with
Tiger
**server licence.
**As I sayed before, deployment key isn't free as the developement
one.
**Installing WO 5.3 under linux (or windows) is permited (see
previous
**posts in this ML), but I don't know someone who succed (WO 5.3 only
**commes installed with tiger server) so chose WAR deployement
with tomcat
David, Aurelien,
Thanks a lot for your comments,
but now I am a bit more confused about this licensing stuff !
Does that means that I have to buy a OSX Server to get a deploy
license ?
