Hi All,

I went snooping around the WO framework and found com.webobjects.appserver._private.License class, which run as a command line tool parses and prints out the properties of a license. The exception messages are also more informative (most of the keys that I had were old and macosx only). (Also, an inner class of License, namely FSSerialRec, provides access to platform and expiry properties.) So, I think an upgrade is in order...

There was no 5.2 requirement, per se, it was simply the current version at dev time -- we never upgraded. If it ain't broke don't fix ;) Also, the thinking was Windows is (officially) supported, but if it's NT only then that thinking doesn't make sense :-\

Thanks for the offer (below), Gavin. But I now feel confident to go ahead without the CD (one way or another!)

Cheers,
Corin.

Hi List,

How do I get a copy of the WO 5.2 Installation CD?

I've been told to deploy WO (5.2.4) onto Windows Server 2003. All the How-Tos that I can find refer to the Installation CD. I can't find it in Apple's store and I tried sending an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but it bounced :(

I've tried simply copying all the java resources but it appears that "<WOApplication> The License key is invalid.

The license key for the for platform you are developing on (this is not true of newer versions).

WO5.2 is hard to find. Your best bet is to hunt down your local Apple rep. In the US can you usually just call the Apple Store. That seems to not work so well in other countries, I am not sure about Australia.

... I have a disk image of the Window/Solaris install disk for 5.2 -- it's a file of ~330 GB.

(?) would it be legal to share (without the license key) -- Pierre ?

(?) is there somewhere I could put a file that size anyway -- mdimension ?
