Keep in mind that while these are RAID, it is not as safe as using a true RAID controller would be, meaning cacheing and a battery to back up that cache in case of a power failure. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the setup you are describing will still be susceptible to data corruption if the power is cut during the middle of a write.
