Welcome to the new world of WebObjects,

yes you too can try out this fabulous new technology, offer an opinion and be insulted.

Anjo and Mike, what you don't know is the that organization that Robert works for is (sorry make that was) a big supporter of and contributor to a number of open source initiatives. Robert himself has contributed a great deal to the Apple/WebObjects community of his own volition so in the future I would advise you to be careful about your assumptions.

We are (oops, make that was as well) also a good customer of Apple. We have used WebObjects extensively for some large applications and have contributed many things to the open source community.

As Anjo so quaintly put it, "a 10 billion $ company just gave us the shaft", and now our first experience at trying and commenting on the "new way" was met with insult and attitude.

We, just like you folks, are under no obligation to support open source initiatives, we all do so for many different reasons but with this kind of attitude from this particular community we certainly will no longer even try.

Apple just lost a 300 million $ customer and Wonder just lost a large supporter.

Good bye and good luck.

Cheers, Rob

My feedback would be to a) join the list and make some official and specific requests for enhancements, b) contribute to the project and help fix some of these complaints you have, or c) don't use it.

What he said, only not as nicely:

While I can understand that someone might find the interface of Eclipse a bit lacking, I think it's a slap in the face for all of those who invest their valuable time to make WO development possible in the future and decide to share their code and experience for free when a 10 billion $ company just gave you the shaft.

You people should be ashamed of yourself.

We certainly welcome enhancements, fixes, or even only ideas, but you must be aware that all the work currently rests on a very small amount of people and they *will* simply stop when the amount of signal to noise progresses to the worse.

Then I'd like to see one of *you* coming forward and working 6 weeks full time to prevent people from needing to edit plists in TextEdit.

Cheers, Anjo
