Thanks - it really doesn't make any sense... I was hoping someone came across some weird way that WO was configuring the connection or something.

Ken,

Interesting. We also use the "thin" driver for Oracle and don't seem to be having this trouble. We are using version 14 of the JDBC driver I think.

You've exhausted my ideas on what the problem might be. Wish I could help further.

Robert,

It spends the entire time at the socket read. The query is only returning 43 rows...

Ken,

Have you logged the SQL to see if your pause is occurring during, or after the SELECT completes? Whenever I've had performance problems that seemed like database problems it was generally happening after the select while building the objects, rather than the actual request performance.

Everyone,

I'm performing queries against Oracle using the thin style of connecting:

jdbc:oracle:thin:@<addr>:<port>:<SID>

When I use iSQL-Viewer to perform a query, the result set comes back in under 100 milliseconds. When I do the same query with EOF, it takes 16 seconds. When I break during this long period, it's always here:

Any thoughts as to why it's performing so poorly? I'm using the same connection style and performing the exact same query...

Thanks,
Ken
