This could indicate a DNS related issue. Try running it as 'sudo lsof -n -i tcp:1085' instead

In case you are curious,

This option inhibits the conversion of network numbers to host
names  for network files.  Inhibiting conversion may make lsof
run faster.  It is also useful when host name  lookup  is  not
working properly.

If you have having host name lookup problems that could be why WO is not working. I think you will need to resolve this issue first. lsof should not hang on a correctly configured machine, AFAIK.
